Macedon, barely a cluster of tribes as far as the Greeks know, is now a powerful kingdom. Unknown to the squabbling southern civilization, Phillip II is king of this new power. The Peloponnesian War has left Greece weak, and Phillip is seeking to conquer them. He has seen to keeping his lineage in power, for his son, Alexander, has recently been born in 356 B.C.E.
Phillip, through bribery, conquest, and accepting volunteer city-states overtakes Greece. Nothing stops him. Soon, Greece falls. This is the beginning of an empire.
Phillip now looks to the Persian Empire. He builds an army worthy of him. But before he can make his first move, he is assassinated and his empire is given to 20-year old Alexander, now with the objective of subduing the rebellious Greeks.
