A new Era is coming..........................

When Alexander the Great set off from Macedon to conquer the Achaemenid Persian empire in the 300s B.C.E., many people were struggling to survive every day. Nothing would have been a surprise. "Wow. An invading army of insane foreigners. Yippee." Many people also had no money. They had to grow food themselves. And to add to that, maniacal kings were stabbing each other over the throne. Yes, these were violent times. Kingdoms would rise, become great empires, then fall apart in blood and fire and the sounds of clashing blades. Great deeds and heroic names turned to ash. And in the middle of this changing world was Greece, and Macedon to the north. Greece was in a civil war, and Macedonia easily took over. After the death of King Phillip II, Alexander, his son, took the throne and the dream of conquering the world. The Achaemenid Persian Empire's doom was born.
Thesis Statement
The Macedonian invasion of Greece and Asia was a turning point in history because it caused the spread of Greek culture, brought an end to the mighty Achaemenid Empire, and began the prosperous Hellenistic Era.
